Salt River Fields

When the Arizona Diamondbacks decided to move from Tucson to the Valley of the Sun for Spring Training, they knew they would need something special. As a long time partner with the Native American community the Diamondbacks along with the Colorado Rockies began discussions with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community to develop the first Spring Training facility to be built on Indian ground.

A ground breaking ceremony was held at the site on November 17, 2009 for construction to begin on a state of the art facility they would share with the Colorado Rockies. Construction was completed in time for the first game in the Cactus League season on February 26, 2011.

In this section you will find details about the various aspects of Salt River Fields and what makes it such an incredible Spring Training venue.
